Hand made advent sticks for Christmas.

These beautiful, handmade advent sticks are a natural, non-commercial alternative to the advent calendars sold in the shops leading up to Christmas. They are also available as advent strings and either way, they're a big hit with children.

Just like with any other advent calendar, the child or children get to open something every day in the lead up to Christmas Day.

The brightly coloured parcels contain a small trinket gathered from nature. Some are also crafted by hand to represent something meaningful. As the days of advent pass the gifts progress from mineral to plant and animal origins, and culminate with a representation of mankind.

The price for 2011 is $25 plus postage.
